Here’s the skinny to get you started:

The TV series will debut on the CW on September 19, 2007.
The TV series is based on the popular book series authored by Cecily von Ziegesar (no, I’m not making that up).
Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, from The OC, will share author duties on the show.
Originally, it was reported that Lindsay Lohan had been recruited for the series. But when that didn’t work out, Blake Lively landed the coveted lead role. Lively is perhaps most famous for her work as Bridget in The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants.
